Liposculpture is the modernized version of liposuction. These two terminologies are widely used today as they are quite synonymous for most people who have undergone the procedure. Precision fat removal is the basic purpose of liposculpture and it is the cutting-edge advantage of this procedure.
Anesthesia and blood staunching solution are injected locally on the area to be treated. After a while the fat become swollen and fat cells are weakened. Using a fine needle, the fat is then drained off.
Removal of superficial and deep fats can be achieved using the liposculpture technique. The patient may also be asked to adjust his/her position to allow the plastic surgeon to evaluate the area that is being treated.
Vibro liposculpture employs the use of lymph drainage- a technique that uses massaging of the area to activate fluid circulation. Local or general anesthesia may be used and the procedure can take up to 3 hours, depending on the areas to be treated.
Lymph drainage is also recommendable after the liposculpture to hasten the fluid drainage and to reduce the swelling of the treated area.
